Hi there Jack,
Well the Coychurch W.I. had their Gazillionnaire Gala Dinner on the 8th April and it was an outstanding success. We had 83 guests who really entered into the spirit of the evening. Ten of us were the 'usual suspects' as detailed in 'Death Bemoans Her' as well as Lotta Marbles, the Chief Inspector, who kept everyone in order and was strict on time, perfect casting. We started with a Bucks Fizz reception and the 'suspects welcomed all the guests and circulated around the tables while guests read through the handouts and had photos taken. During this time Lotta informed the various tables that a terrible accident had occurred and was being investigated. Just before dinner was served I had arranged for an 'altercation' between Cher Kolate and Belle Rider, this was a real slinging match which involved all the other suspects calming them down and getting them to the dinner table. This went very well and certainly set the scene. After dinner we circulated around the tables and were asked some pretty searching and quite tough questions. They had all been paying attention!!
After each table had nominated their
Murderer, the Denouement was read out, and I thought this was
brilliantly written because as each 'suspect' was mentioned it gave
an indication that she was guilty before moving on to the next
suspect. You could see people nudging each other with glee - thinking
they had cracked it.
Unfortunately no-one guessed the
murderer, and the guilty party made a real meal of being found out,
handcuffed and taken away.
Great fun, the feedback has been
wonderful and to top it all the caterer hired for the event did us
proud.
A most enjoyable evening Jack. We will
do another one next year. Hope you like the photos.
Regards,
Sheila Carr
