Jack,
I wanted to get back to you and
tell you that "Death in Them Thar Hills" was a great success.
I used people from our community to do it, we used most of the secondary characters
from our wait staff and others randomly selected at each table. We set
up for 120 people and had to turn folks away.
The format was great. We did the intro of everyone before the meal and did the speeches then. After the meal Dusty spoke, then died and the rest of the evening was spent solving the mystery. We had 22 tables and each table was a team used to solve the crime. Five of the 22 tables got it correct. My biggest surprise was how much people got into it. We did not invite anyone to come; it was advertised and we got folks from our community as well as folks from the surrounding towns. We are in the mountains here so them thar hills was appropriate, plus there are mines all around here, coal mines that is. I planned to stop the investigations after an hour or whenever it seems people were done. However, after 90 minutes they were still going strong. I had to put a stop to it.
We are now getting inquiries as
to when we are going to do another one.
Sincerely,
George Evans
